Patti found me when I visited the AC&C looking for either a dog or cat. They had euthanized the two dogs I originally sought. Fought with another couple for her..but she jumped in my arms, smothered me with kisses, wouldnt let go.
Hope to adopt a cat sibling for Patti one day in the future. We both dig cats.
Birthday is 7/25/02. (Ok, i made up the date..She was born in the summer '02 at some point.) Time is flying by... She came home with me from the shelter in frigid January '03.
Piggy, Cuz Balls - those balls with feet (which patti amputates, 5 seconds flat), Octopii, the "wangle" bone, old slobbery tennis balls, Whirl-a-Squirrels, Diapered Elephant. Where do I find these toys?? Anything chewable or squeakable.
Patti loves to chow animals..Burgers, hotdogs, roast chick, turkey..And green peppers, cheese. Pretty much all the table food she wants, and whatever I'm eating. (She even learned to like tofu..sorta.) Bully Sticks and these dried chicken strips.
“ Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, so some members couldn't make it. But we still had a nice turnout, and I was able to meet some members that I had spoken with for a while, but had never met in person. We discussed ways to implement new programs at city shelters, and the problems with the stereotyping of pit bulls - and ways to change it. One of our members is planning to start a foundation so she can pour money into the shelter, in the places that need the most help. Great to meet people who want to help these pits! Our first Sunday meetup was a good start to having other Sunday meetups in the future.. ”

“ Hi Amy,
Thanks for the greeting. I took your advice and posted a picture (though it's still processing) of myself and the pit I lived with for 8 months. I look forward to meeting people, and of course, to meeting the adorable dogs.
Randi ”
“ Hi Amy,
It's Loren. I don't know if you got my email or not. I tried to forward an email but it came back. Do you have an email address I could send you info on pits at the ACC that are due to be put down (so you could possibly forward it to your membership?) It would really help! Thanks, great to hear from you, Loren. ”
“ Oh, and Mick is named after Mick Jagger, because he's got a big ole mouth, even for a bully. Although I firmly believe Sympathy for the Devil is one of the finest songs ever written, my musical tastes are all over the map, and there's a hell of a lot of respect for Patti, as a former punk from what seems like 100 years ago! ”
“ Hey Amy, thanks for the well-wishes. Settling down here finally, phew! Honestly, he was a real tool the first couple of weeks, but he's really chilled out now that he's got a LOT of structure and now that he realizes he's in his forever apartment. Bullies really are sooo different, but in great ways. He's so much more demanding than my Chi, but the payoff is just as good. It makes me feel so much better to know that there's a NYC apbt community out there who understands -- thanks! ”
“ Hi Amy. Thanks for the welcome greetin; hey better late than never. I am going to make it to a meetup "eventually". Although I resoponded that I wouldn't be there this Sat., there's a small chance that I may make the scene. Again, if not this Sat., then sometime soon. Check out my new "family" picture. Sadly our rough and tough cat, Drakula passed away in June after 10 years with us. Happily, a new kitten (Krikit) showed up the night after Drak passed. See y'all, Gregory G. ”
