The NEW YORK CITY PIT BULL and Pit Mix- Rescue Meetup Group
|
We welcome those who support pits, even if you aren't NYC residents or pit bull owners! NYC meetups for Pit bulls / Pit mixes (staffs, rescues, etc) every Saturday or Sunday thru whole year. We meet at various parks and dog runs, dog-friendly restaurants, and take walks along the Rivers and bridges, and through the neighborhoods. Chance to meet people who love their pits, want to have fun, & want to get rid of ugly stereotypes surrounding the breed. We work on promoting responsible pit bull ownership. Message Board for discussion - NYC dog events, BSL updates, trainers & obedience classes, caring for your pup, get advice, health, rescue and volunteer info, Pits in the news, adoptable pits, etc. See stories, photos, and videos of pit bulls living the good life. Send me your adoption story, and I'll post on site. Become a member (it's free). FOUND A PIT BULL? Scroll down our "About Us" page and find this section (in red) for info on what to do, and resources for finding rescues / shelters for homeless pits. You can also find Spay/Neuter and Financial Aid for Medical Care and Training & Advice info on the "About Us" page. And view adoptable pits available now.

"Hey..Roxy is so adorable, by the way. I saw your post about the Hudson River walk...You can bring any friends and dogs with you. As long as they are lovers of the pits, they are more than welcome to join the group on any of our adventures! It also helps change people's perspective of the breed when they see yorkies and chihuahuas walking side by side with the pit bulls. I love that. Not sure if i will make the walk yet, but would love to meet you guys soon. Take care, Amy (& Patti Smith)"
